The skies of Cape Coral will be buzzing this weekend. Buzzing with activity for sure, but specifically with the high pitched whine of remote controlled airplanes (RCs). Chapter 534 of the AMA (Academy Of Model Aeronautics) are better known as the RSeahawks. The RSeahawks are a club for lovers of RC planes based in Cape Coral Florida. The 300 plus members of the Rseahawks fly out of a city owned airpark. The airpark features 2 600 ft airstrips and plays host to a variety of different model aircraft. Everything from replicas of WWII bombers with wingspans over 6 ft to jet powered models of modern fighters can be seen in the skies when the RSeahawks meet.

On March 21st and 22nd you can share in the excitement at the 20th Annual Gathering of Giants. The event will showcase radio controlled Jets, Warbirds, Stunt Planes, and more! Thousands will delight at the aerobatic feats these miniature marvels can perform at the club’s airpark located at 1030 28th St. NW. Come down this weekend and enjoy the show.
